JE JAZZ 2016
Terroir:
The Château de Meaux vineyard is part of the Château Gautoul estate; it is located on the first alluvial terrace of the Lot in Meaux on soils typical of the lower Würm terrace (20 to 40,000 years old) which produce supple, delicate and particularly fruity wines.
Grape varieties: Malbec (> 85%) Merlot and Tannat
Vinification:
Harvested at the optimum ripeness of each plot with gentle vinification at low temperatures to promote the expression of the grape varieties and limit the extraction of tannins. Aged partly in vats and barrels for twelve months without using new wood to respect the typical character of the grape variety and the terroir.
Bottling eighteen months after the harvest then aging in our cellars in the bottle.
Tasting:
Beautiful blue-red color. Powerful nose evoking quite fresh fruit, a combination of red and black fruits, with a floral touch reminiscent of peony and violet. On the palate, the attack is both supple and powerful, with a beautiful freshness; the development in the mouth is pleasant without excess power, it finishes on notes of blackcurrant and fresh raspberry.
Consumption: 6 to 12 months after bottling, harmonious aging capacity: 5 to 10 years depending on the vintage
Recommended pairings: an accessible wine in its youth, it can be suitable for all occasions but is particularly recommended with simple and refreshing dishes.
