Château Gautoul is a major wine estate in the Cahors region, located on a terroir of great tradition. Today, the vines are cultivated with respect for nature, the environment and local tradition. This estate, in conversion to organic farming since 2022, is managed by the Dessay and Mathieu-Dessay families and benefits from the typical grape varieties of the appellation: Cot (also known as Malbec, for more than 80% of the wineyard), Merlot and Tannat. Each plot is carefully worked, taking into account the particularities of each vintage, to produce authentic, balanced and elegant wines. The wines of Château Gautoul thus reflect their terroir and their history, and perpetuate the long wine-making tradition of the Cahors region.

Welcome to
Welcome to the hillsides of Puy-l'Évêque! It is here in the cradle of Malbec and AOC Cahors that the plots of Château Gautoul are located. This 17th century chartreuse, situated opposite the medieval village, offers a breathtaking view of the river Lot and welcomes visitors for a tasting and a walk around the estate or a stay of several days out of time. Its 19 hectares of vineyards face south, and the great diversity of the soils give a unique personality to the wines of Château Gautoul. Since 1999, Château Gautoul has been committed to the Cahors Wine Charter.
